湖南科学技术出版社成立于1979年，出版图书涵盖了自然科学、工程技术、医学、农业、科学普及等领
域，年出新书500多种，出版有《今日地产》杂志。2007年10月，新闻出版总署批准我社开展电子出版物及
音像制品的出版，并成立湖南科学技术电子音像出版社。我社已成为集图书、杂志、电子、音像出版为一
体的综合性出版社。
湖南科学技术出版社以“弘扬科学精神，推动科技发展”为宗旨，坚持“继承传统优秀文化，引进国
外先进科技”的出版路线，形成了“精心策划，精编精印，奉献一流文化精品”的风格，推出了一大批高
品位、高格调、重实用、讲实效的科技佳作，满足了工农业生产、人才培养和人民生活的需要，产生了显
著的社会效益和经济效益。共有近400种图书获各项国家级和省部级奖，如《杂交水稻育种栽培学》获首届
国家图书奖；《现代显微外科学》、湖湘名医典籍精华》先后获国家图书奖提名奖；《科学的历程》、《
九亿农民健康教育读本》、《哈军工传》获全国精神文明“五个一工程”一本好书奖；《现代心脏内科学
》、《引力理论与引力效应》、《并行算法》、《两系杂交小麦实践与理论》、《有限元高精度理论》、
《长沙窑珍品新考》、《湖南杂交水稻发展史》等书先后获历届“中国图书奖”等。《科普图书的出版现
状与对策》获首届中华优秀出版物（论文）奖。在首届中国出版政府奖获奖公示中，我社出版的《湖南药
物志》获首届中国出版政府奖，我社获得中国出版政府奖“先进集体奖”。
我社的科普、医卫两个板块在湖南出版投资控股集团五大品牌中占有其二。《第一推动丛书》等科普
图书选择世界一流科学家的一流科普作品，历经15年而长销不衰。《时间简史（插图版）》、《果壳中的
宇宙》、《时间简史（普及版）》、《走近费曼丛书》等屡创畅销佳绩。2006年出版了美国著名作家弗里
德曼所著《世界是平的》，多次登上各类畅销书的排行榜。医卫图书出版了《湖湘名医典籍精华》、《湖
南药物志》、《中国人心电图研究及临床应用》、《医学临床“三基”训练丛书》、《全国高等中医药院
校成人教育教材》等等，都创造了良好的社会效益和经济效益。
工业图书是我社近几年发展较快的一个新的板块，取得了较好的市场业绩。《高性能炭/炭航空制动材
料的制备技术》入选新闻出版总署第一届“三个一百”原创出版工程。在农业图书方面，《九亿农民健康
教育广播稿》、《农业病虫害彩色挂图》、《无公害养殖新技术丛书》以其内容全面、贴近实际生活，赢
得了农民朋友的一致好评。
我社与海外50多家出版机构建立了良好的合作关系，历年共引进400余种书，输出达50余种。
当前我社也和整个出版界一样，处在改革的关键时刻。我社将抓住机遇，加强自主创新，提高核心竞
争力，以新的姿态再创辉煌。

A Brief Introduction to
Hunan Science ＆ Technology Press
Established as a medium－sized publishing house in May， 1979， Hunan Science ＆ Technology Press （HSTP） has a high reputation among the publishing circles at home． It specializes in publishing scientific and technological writings． There are over 90 staff members in the press with an annual publication of more than 500 kinds of books．
With the purpose of “advocating a scientific spirit， selecting the essence of a national culture， introducing foreign science and technology， and paying attention to cultural accumulation”， HSTP has published a lot of books of high quality， fine contents and wide influence． Over 400 books have gained many prizes such as National Book Prize and China Book Prize and so on．
Since its foundation， the Press has imported 400 kinds of books． The First Mover Series which consists of the world famous popular science books has caused a sensation in all walks of life throughout the country and has been reprinted many times in the latest 10 years． The Collected Papers of Albert Einstein which is a large－scaled collection with 25 volumes reflecting the life of Albert Einstein， the 20th century scientific giant， are to be published by HSTP with the grant of the Princeton University Press． Five volumes of the collection have been published so far． A Brief History of Time， The Universe in a Nutshell by Professor Stephen W．Hawking， has become best sellers． In addition， the imported books on medicine， management and daily life such as A Handbook of Foreign Medical Classic， etc．， have enｊoyed good benefits both in society and economy．
For many years， the Press have also exported over 50 kinds of books， such as The Construction Theory Denumerable Markov Processes， The Course of Science， etc． All these books have made a great contribution to advocating scientific spirit， spreading knowledge of science and promoting the development of science．
Up to now， HSTP has established good cooperative relations in copyright business with more than 50 publishing institutions， such as Oxford University Press， Cambridge University Press， Princeton University Press， etc．
